    Blackberry Desktop Manager for Mac

RIM has finally decided to update its desktop management suite for the Mac. Wise move on their part– although, they obviously should have done this much sooner. I remember being a Mac + Blackberry owner, and having to rely on “The Missing Sync” software to sync on the Macbook. This is great news for you BB + Mac owners.

[Blackberry] 10 Very Useful BB Storm Tips

The Storm is Blackberry’s very first touch screen device. Many traditional BB users switched to the Storm in pursuit of its touch screen goodness, and web & media capabilities. This post is for new Storm users, and traditional BB addicts who have made the switch- these tips will make for a much better experience.

       1. In order to send an SMS/Email quickly after you’re done composing, just click the menu button twice. This will save you from clicking menu, then send.
       2. To switch to numbers while typing, you can hold the number key down for 2 seconds.
       3. To  Zoom in and out on the Storm’s camera, swipe your finger up/down on the screen while in camera mode.
       4. Like with all other BlackBerrys, to capitalize a letter you can hold it down for 2 seconds while typing.
       5. To hide the keyboard swipe your finger down over the top of it. Swiping your finger up will bring the keyboard back up.
       6. To sort emails by sender simply hold your finger over an email/SMS message from someone and it will sort them all from that contact.
       7. Typing on the BlackBerry Storm can be different. However, I have found that if you are in full keyboard mode and you keep your left thumb for typing on the left side and your right thumb for typing on the right side you will  significantly decrease your typing errors. Also, don’t watch what you are typing on the screen. Instead, watch the keyboard and your fingers. This will eliminate errors after a while.
       8. For a quick menu, from the home screen, hold down the menu key for 2 seconds. You can access some of the commonly used applications from this menu.
       9. The tip above is also helpful to find out if any background processes are running and sucking up your memory. Note: You cannot close the BlackBerry messenger, Phone, Application Center, Browser or Messages applications.  However, if any other applications are running you can close them.
      10. To add a period at the end of a sentence quickly. Just double click the space key at the end of the sentence.
