    Hello my loyal followers. All 15 of you : )! I am looking into new ideas to help spread the word about my blog and putting ideas together to make improvements. I will be taking more of my own pictures, and sharing a little bit more about who I am in order to make this a more personal experience. I am also putting together a Revolve Clothing Boutique where you can visit to see some fashion items that I own or would love to own (coming up in a few weeks). Many new and improved things to come and I hope to make my blog a wonderful virtual location where you can come to relax and indulge. If you have any requests or ideas, please let me know. I am open!     This is a really old picture of Shakira, but I have to post it because I absolutely LOVE her hair here! Hopefully she had a stylist do this one, or her wrists would be super strong from all that twisting.     This picture is cut off funny. Sorry folks. But what cool and easy hair styles on these models. You could probably just take a shower at night, put in some product and let it naturally dry and then braid and touch up the front randomly with a curling iron to smooth or not! The End of Days...or so he says!

    So there is a man that is making headlines today. He is hypothesizing, according to biblical information, that the world will be coming to an end today. And though I believe I will be safe and sound when my head hits the pillow tonight. I cant help but wonder....if it was everyone's last day on earth (for those who are not "saved" and facing a fiery pit in hell)...what would we do? What would I do?
    Would you travel? Would you go wild? Would you make amends to those you have hurt in your life? Would you spend time with loved ones? Or just one loved one? Would skydive? Or ride a bull in a rodeo? Would you dance the day away? Or would you pray? All very important questions. But here on the Fashionable Shenanigans Blog, I like to keep things light. 
    So let us day dream not about higher more sophisticated questions. For this moment, let us day dream about tulle, red lipstick, painted fingernails, red carpet ready dresses and eye make up that makes you look like a life-sized barbie. About how we would present ourselves upon this entrance into the pit of hell.
    I for one would love to enter looking something like Emma Stone from the 2011 Golden Globes in her Calvin Klein peach dress and new blonde locks. Per-fec-tion!

    Flappers had a major focus on makeup. They traditionally had dark eye makeup, and dark lipstick that accentuated a cupids bow. I have read that some women for pictures even wore their black eye liner on their lips in order to make for a more drastic contrast in coloring. Very fun look!

    During this era U.S. history was changing...World War I had ended and women were granted the right to vote... =>Enter the Flapper! She was a liberal and free-thinking woman who wore short skirts, sheer stockings, had a short hair cut, which was also known as "the bob" which many times was styled in a finger waive. And she wore drastically dark makeup with art deco jewelry. The Flapper was considered youthful and boyish, as they abandoned curves and restricted corsets for a more loose fitting dress with strait lines. Flappers were pioneers in many ways, and fashion was just used (as it was intended to be) as an outlet for expression. I think for the flapper; her style was an expression of change, freedom, and liberation. She herself allowed her fashion to be an expression of free thinking. It was the fashion that flipped upside down the idea of femininity and allowed women to take control over what it expresses about them as individuals and as American women.
