I know from personal experience that quite a lot of people out there don't know what version of Microsoft windows they are using, this tutorial will help you find out quickly. By the end of this tutorial you will know what Version of Windows you are using and more detailed information like what Service Pack is installed.

Click on Start and Select Run

The Version Information that you will see will differ from mine

That's all there is to it, if you look again in the image above you will also see that it informs you what SP (Service Pack) you have installed. (Service Packs are Microsoft Windows Update) and can be a very important factor if there are issues with your computer, for example if you ever need to contact technical support they will usually want to know this information.
